What is Memorifolio and how does it work? +

Memorifolio is a shared photo album for events. As a host, you create an event in under a minute and get a unique QR code and guest link. Guests scan the QR code at your venue and instantly upload photos from their phones — no app download, no account needed.

All photos appear in a shared gallery that anyone with the link can view. As the host, you get a private link (sent to your email) that lets you manage the album — including removing any photos you don't want.

Do guests need to download an app? +

No app download required — for anyone. Guests simply scan the QR code or open the link in their phone's browser and start uploading immediately. It works on iPhone, Android, and any device with a browser.

This is one of Memorifolio's key advantages. Asking 80 wedding guests to download an app before your event creates friction and reduces participation. We remove that barrier entirely.

How do I share the QR code with my guests? +

Several options work well depending on your event:

  • Print and display — place printed QR cards on tables or at the venue entrance
  • Digital screen — show the QR code on a TV or projector at your venue
  • Send in advance — share the guest upload link via WhatsApp, email, or your event invitation before the event
  • Both — send the link beforehand and display the QR code at the venue for anyone who missed it

After creating your event, use your browser's print function (Ctrl+P / Cmd+P) to print the QR code directly.

What types of events is Memorifolio best for? +

Memorifolio works for any event where multiple people are taking photos and you want them all in one place:

  • Weddings and engagement parties
  • Birthday celebrations
  • Corporate events, conferences, and team off-sites
  • Family reunions and holiday gatherings
  • School and university events
  • Baby showers and gender reveals

It's especially valuable when your guests use different phones (iPhone vs Android) and would otherwise scatter photos across WhatsApp, AirDrop, and email.

Who can see the photos in my album? +

Only people who have your album link can view the photos. We do not list or index albums publicly — there is no way to browse or discover your event unless someone shares the link with them.

Think of it like a Google Photos album shared by link: anyone with the URL can view it, but we never share that URL with anyone. You control who gets the link.

Are my photos sold or used for advertising? +

Never. Your photos are your private memories. We do not sell, share, license, or use your photos for any advertising, training data, or commercial purpose of any kind. Photos exist solely for you and your guests to enjoy.

Memorifolio does not display any advertisements in the product.

Where are photos stored? +

Photos are stored on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3. AWS is one of the world's most secure and trusted cloud infrastructure providers — used by governments, banks, hospitals, and Fortune 500 companies globally.

For guests located in the EU, our privacy policy covers data transfers under GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with AWS.

Is Memorifolio GDPR compliant? +

Yes. We have a full Privacy Policy covering GDPR requirements including:

  • Clear disclosure of what data is collected and why
  • Right to access, correct, and delete your data
  • 12-month automatic data retention limit
  • Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data transfers to AWS
  • No data sold to third parties

You can request deletion of your event and all associated photos at any time by emailing hello@memorifolio.net.

Can I delete my event or specific photos? +

Yes. As the host, you can delete individual photos directly from your album using the host link sent to your email. Simply open your host link, hover over any photo, and click the delete button.

To delete your entire event and all photos, email us at hello@memorifolio.net with your event name and we will permanently remove everything within 48 hours.

What personal data do you collect from guests? +

Very little. Guests do not create accounts or provide personal information to upload photos. We collect only the photos they choose to upload and standard server logs (IP address, timestamp) for security purposes.

From the host, we collect only the event name, your name, email address, and event date — the minimum needed to create and send your album link.

How reliable is photo storage? Will I lose my photos? +

Photos are stored on AWS S3, which provides 99.999999999% (11 nines) data durability. In plain terms: if you stored 10 million photos, you would expect to lose less than one photo every 10,000 years.

AWS S3 automatically replicates every file across multiple physical data centres. If one facility goes down, your photos are unaffected. This is the same infrastructure Netflix uses to serve billions of streams daily.

How long are photos stored? +

Photos are stored for 12 months from the date of your event. After 12 months, all photos and event data are permanently deleted from our servers.

We strongly recommend downloading your photos (individually or as a ZIP) within that period and saving them to your own storage (Google Photos, iCloud, an external drive). Your memories deserve a permanent home.

Is there a limit on photo size or number of photos? +

Currently there is no hard limit on the number of photos per event. Photos are uploaded at full original resolution with no compression — unlike WhatsApp, which reduces image quality significantly.

For very large events (200+ guests, 1,000+ photos), we recommend downloading the album in batches rather than a single ZIP to avoid timeout issues on slower connections.

What file formats are supported? +

We support all standard photo formats taken by smartphone cameras:

  • JPEG / JPG (most common)
  • PNG
  • HEIC (iPhone default format)
  • WebP

Videos are not currently supported — photos only.

How do I access my album after the event? +

When you create your event, we send a private host link to your email address. This link gives you full host controls — including the ability to delete photos — from any device, anywhere in the world.

Simply open that email and click your host link. We recommend bookmarking it for easy future access.

What if I can't find the host email? +

First, check your spam or junk folder — the email comes from hello@memorifolio.net with the subject "Your Memorifolio album is ready."

If you still can't find it, email us at hello@memorifolio.net with the email address you used when creating the event and your event name. We'll resend your host link within 24 hours.

Note: you can always view the album (without host controls) using the regular album link, which is also shown on the creation screen.

Can I remove photos I don't want in the album? +

Yes. Open your album using the host link from your email. Hover over (or long-press on mobile) any photo — you'll see a delete button appear. Deleted photos are permanently removed and cannot be recovered, so review carefully before deleting.

Guests cannot delete each other's photos — only the host can remove photos from the album.

Can I download all photos at once? +

Yes. On the album page, click "↓ Download All" to download every photo as a single ZIP file. You can also click on any individual photo and download it separately.

Both the host and guests can download photos — there's no restriction on downloads.

Is Memorifolio free? +

Yes — currently free for all events. Create as many events as you like with no guest or photo limits during our launch period.

We plan to introduce optional paid features in the future (such as extended storage, custom branding for corporate events, and priority support). The core product will remain free for personal events.

Is there a guest limit per event? +

No. There is no limit on how many guests can join and upload photos to your event. Whether you have 10 guests or 500, everyone can participate.

Do I need a credit card to sign up? +

No credit card, no account, no sign-up required. You provide only your name, email, and event details — and your album is ready in under a minute.
